    Look up the SMS email server address for the cellular provider of the phone you will send your message to. Most major cell phone carriers have an SMS email server that will allow you to send emails to cell phones on their network as SMS messages. The email server addresses for the major cell phone providers are freely available online.

    Compose your email. Keep in mind that SMS protocol limits the number of characters in a text to 160; longer emails will be broken into multiple text messages.

    Type the ten-digit phone number of the cell phone that will receive your message into the "To:" field. Add the email server address located in step 1. The final address will look similar to this: "[email protected]"
